School's back, the morning's are cooler, and fall is a few weeks away.
Before you get too busy, be sure to check out what's going on with the
Youth at FLC. Not only do we have some great events coming, we're back
in Sunday School. This year, we'll work out of the "re:form" curriculum and tackle some interesting questions and issues. Come every Sunday morning from 9:00 to 9:45 and grow in your faith with us.
As for the other events, including the beginning of Confirmation and
Youth Night, keep an eye on the calendar. You can grab one at FLC or download a copy by clicking on this calendar link. As always, you can sign up to be on our E-mail list by sending a quick post to flcyouth.eburg@gmail.com, or follow us on Facebook.
Our prayer is for this year to be one in which you grown in Christ, living a life of grace.
School's
out, and that means the FLC Youth program is ready with summer events
and discipleship opportunities. Beginning with June 23's Bar-B-Que, the
Youth will host a number of activities and meeting times through the
summer. To find out what we're up to -- and how you can be involved --
watch the FB page, check the church bulletin, e-mail Joe, or download a copy of the summer newsletter (you can also pick up a copy at FLC).
Here are some highlights: FISH Summer Lunch Program, Yakima Bears trip, Boulder Cave Hike, "Winegar's Wednesdays," and another Parents' Night Out. Be sure to check in and sign up. And have a great summer of rest and worship.
Please
help shape the Youth Department. Youth and their families should
receive a special planning survey in the mail. There are also plenty on
the kids/Youth table if you need an extra copy, or you can download one
by clicking here.
We will prioritize our Youth schedule based on your responses to this
survey. If you have ideas for youth events, programs, or discipleship,
please let us know. Please complete the survey by May 15 to help us plan
the summer schedule and the 2011-2012 school year.
Note: You may complete the survey online. See the FLC web page and click on “Youth Survey” or click here. Thanks for all your help.

busy month as we bridge Lent and Easter. You'll find information on
Easter Morning Breakfast and the Easter Egg Hunt. There's also a bit
about Parents' Night Out and an upcoming Youth family survey. Finally,
the newsletter contains some important notes on Youth Night schedule and
possible summer events. Remember, if you think there's something
missing from Youth events, you can consider sponsoring an event. We
usually meet on the first Sunday of every month. For more information,
see the Event Planning Page.
This year during Lent, the FLC Youth will be working through Gail Ramshaw's devotional 40 Days and 40 Nights.
Ramshaw writes a brief entry for every day of Lent. Each entry includes
a meditation, a prayer, a Bible reading, and a hymn listing. We invite
all youth to grab their own copies and go through this study with us. 40 Days and 40 Nights will be our guiding book for Youth Nights during Lent (remember that Confirmation students are welcome to join us for these).
The books are available on the Children's/Youth Table outside the sanctuary. Take a copy. Read it by yourself or with your family. Bring it to Wednesday Bread and Soup nights (which precede Youth Nights during Lent). And take some extra time for prayer and mediation in this season.
