Habitat for Humanity of Kittitas County recently received some great news! Thrivent Builds is partnering with Habitat for the financing and building of the 17th Habitat House in Kittitas County! The home will be located in the Elk Heights location, with plans to break ground on April 23. There are many opportunities for Thrivent members to make a contribution and have their efforts counted toward meeting grant requirements. Build days are on Saturdays. Providing meals, snacks or beverages count toward volunteer hours also. Food items would be delivered to the Ellensburg Habitat store. To find out more about volunteering contact Carla Tacher at 509-962-5058 or carla.tacher@kchabitat.org . Habitat is in the process of finishing up the current house and applications for the next recipient family are underway.

Ruby, Ellensburg.  Representatives from local faith traditions – Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Unitarian, and more, will present the program.  The Celebration service will start at 4:00pm to be followed by a community potluck at 5:00pm.  People of good will of all faiths and those who profess no religion are invited to come and join hands.  It is a sign of hope for our time that increasing numbers of people of faith are connecting and cooperating with others who hold differing beliefs to join together in a call for healing our common home, the Earth. For more information, e-mail Pastor Jen at eburgumpastor@gmail.com, or Rev. Bill at minister@kvuu.org.
