Please Help Keep the Youth Program Going: Today, after worship, we’ll hold a very special Event Planning Meeting. This really is a key meeting. Without solid participation, the Youth Program will lose significant momentum. As Joe transitions out of the Youth Director position, we need to plan for the first five months of the 2012–2013 year. If you have a child in Youth (or would like to be involved with the Youth program), please plan on attending. Thanks.

Community Worship Service: Calvary Baptist Church (now at the old Liberty Theatre) is hosting a multi-church worship night tonight—Sunday, August 19th— beginning at 7:00 p.m. According to Pastor Lampley and Macklen Scribner, the coordinator of the event, “The goal of this night is to have worship and fellowship in Christ for all ages, bridging the gap between youth group and the Sunday morning congregation.” Please check with Joe for more information.

Waterpark Trip: On Tuesday, August 21, the Youth will travel to the Moses Lake Water Park, leaving FLC at 9:00 and returning between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. We haven’t had enough people RSVP in time for a group discount, so prices are as follows: 5-12 years: $7.00, 13-17 years: $8.00, 18-64 years: $9.00. A concession stand is at the park.
We still need drivers and chaperones. Also, everyone under 18 years old, must complete a Permission Form. These are available from Joe (flcyouth.eburg@gmail.com) or on the table at FLC.

Sundae Sunday: On Sunday, August 26, the Youth Department will host a “Sundae Sunday” following morning worship. We will provide ice cream and piles of toppings. Everyone is welcome to join us. Donations are appreciated, but not required.

Girls’ Bible Study: This summer, Amanda is hosting a bi-weekly, evening bible study for Youth girls at her apartment. Only one remain, so if you haven’t come yet, be sure to come August 25, 6:30-8:00 p.m.. This is open to all Youth girls (including our newest Youth, those students now completing fifth grade). For more information, please check with Joe or Amanda.

Open Gym and Office Hours: Every-other Monday Joe keeps office hours in the fellowship hall. Youth are invited to stop in to use the gym or chat. 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. (The last one is 8/27).

Winegar’s Wednesdays: Joe and all interested Youth will camp out at the University Way Winegar’s from 2:00–3:00 p.m. This is a little time for Youth to talk, pray, read together . . . and have ice cream. There’s only one left — 8/29.

Facebook and Event Updates: Although the Youth Department sends out e-mails from time-to-time, our usual way of communicating is with the Facebook page. Remember that you don’t necessarily need to be on Facebook to use that page. Just go to our address — www.facebook.com/flcyouth — and keep updated on the latest news and events. And, if you “Like” us, you can receive automatic updates and join events.

Youth Updates: Do you want Youth updates through e-mail? If so, please e-mail Joe at flcyouth.eburg@gmail.com
to be included on our news and events e-mail list. You can also watch the bulletin, the FLC web site, the Youth Facebook page, and the FLARE for more information.
