Outreach Ministry has received a $250 grant from Thrivent for its "God's Work; Our Hands" project with the local Habitat for Humanity.  Specifics of the project include  having church members work in the Habitat Store at 212 S. Railroad, as well as landscaping and straightening donations outside the store.  Any money left over will  augment the costs  of painting Habitat houses built years ago.  We encourage as many of you as possible to participate in these activities.  Kick-off is September 12th. Also part of “God’s Work; Our Hands” weekend is cooking and serving the Saturday F.I.S.H. Food Bank dinner here on September 12th from 3-6p. Let Pastor Dennis know if you can help cook/serve and/or clean-up.

Quilters resume Wednesday, September 9th 9-2p ish. The ladies make beautiful quilts, which are given to charities. New hands are always welcome.

Confirmation Pizza Feed Wednesday, September 16th at 6:30 pm. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their parents who are interested in our Confirmation ministry are invited to a pizza feed and information time from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Wed. Sept 16th.  This will be a good time to ask questions, get an overview of the year and sign up to be acolytes. This year we will be doing Youth Fun Nights on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.  On Sept 16th we will also walk through what you do as an acolyte on Sundays.  Actual confirmation classes will start on Wed., Sept. 23rd at 6:30 pm.  This year we will be studying the Apostles’ Creed, Baptism & Lord’s Supper and Reformation History.

Please let pastor Dennis know how many from your family are coming to the Pizza Feed on Wed., Sept 16th so he orders enough food.  925-2844 church,  933-2605 home. High Schoolers are welcome to come and have pizza with us, too.
