Huge thanks to Brian McElroy for fixing our church sign out front. Looks great!

Many thanks to Betty Kramlich for bringing altar flowers all summer, fresh from her garden!

It is my greatest disappointment to cancel the women’s annual rummage sale, usually held in early October. There are several reasons: closed rooms, people coming in from outside and that many who help me are in the high risk category (age and health issues) of which I am included.

Instead of forgetting the charities and our own church’s emergency fund, I would like to set up a money box in the office. You can contribute directly or mail in a check to the office and the money will be deposited into the box. Here is a list of charities we have given to in the past. If you would like to give to a specific one please put your donation in an envelope with the name. First Lutheran Emergency Funds, Hospice Friends, Children’s Advocacy, FISH, Spirit TRC, Trellis Center, Habitat for Humanity, Lutheran World Relief, Aspen, FLC Weekend Nutrition. Please consider donating generously to these charities. It’s been a difficult time for all of us and it breaks my heart not to be able to do this rummage sale this year. Stay safe everyone and I look forward to being able to worship and plan for our rummage sale next year.

God Bless, Linda Strand

I just wanted to share in the bulletin and Flare that Jacob and Matthew both appreciate the being included in the prayers both individually and from the church body. They have both expressed feeling the support at different times. Jake is currently stationed in Vicenza, Italy with the 173rd. He arrived there just as Italy shut down due to COVID and was in quarantine for 2 months. Just as quarantine was lifting he was deployed somewhere on the border of Turkey, his first deployment as the leader of his own unit. Continued prayers for protection are very much appreciated. He shared this: Hi Everyone! Thank you for the prayers! My guys and I are doing great and staying safe. I hope you’re all staying safe as well and helping others when possible. Matthew is in Zhuhai China. He is now working at a Montessori School, teaching 4 year olds. He continues to be involved with a house church there and quietly ministers mainly through game nights and sport activities. He also appreciates your prayers for protection and good health. They both are very thankful for the love, support and continued prayers and wanted me to pass that along to the congregation.
