Thanks to Alec Keith for playing the flute. This is Alec’s last Sunday here as he graduates from CWU. Congratulations and God’s Blessings, Alec!

The preschool is in search of your old Christmas cards.  Please feel free to leave any donations in the church office. Thank you!

Scandinavian Dinner: FREE tickets for the dinner are at the table in the fellowship hall TODAY, if available (seating is limited).  The annual festive potluck will be Wednesday, December 10 at 5:30 p.m.  Please indicate on the sign-up easel the food item(s) you will be bringing.  There is also an opportunity to sign up to help in a variety of ways (on the same easel—as of today we have empty slots, please consider signing up to help).  Please remember, if you take tickets and find later you are unable to attend, call the church office at 925-2844 so your tickets may be given to someone on the (possible) wait list.  Thank you!

“Jubilee:” All who are planning to participate our Christmas Program during the worship service on Dec. 14, please note the following rehearsal times:

*Thursday, Dec. 11: 6:15 p.m. in the sanctuary

Sunday, Dec. 14: 8:45 a.m. in the sanctuary

* This is our only evening rehearsal.  It will be about 30-45 min. for the children/youth (choir stays longer).

Christmas is coming so it is time to start thinking about the Community Christmas Basket program. From now until December 7th we will be collecting donations for this community program. Thrivent will be matching up to $825. Indicate on your check or offering envelope “Christmas Basket” to make sure it gets there.

Cold Weather Shelter: Thanks to Joe & Jan Riggs, Doug Fessler and Dennis Hickman for hosting our first shelter night here on Thursday, December 4th. For now the schedule is: Monday & Tuesday @ First Christian, Wednesday & Friday @ Methodist, Thursday @ FLC. CWU donated sleeping bags and mats. And thank you to other FLC members who have volunteered to help. I’ll be calling you soon.  Pastor Dennis

Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, Grace Episcopal Church, 1201 N. B St.  NEXT, Sunday, Dec 14th at 3pm. This wonderful ecumenical worship service has been happening in Ellensburg since 1988.  This service was first presented at King’s College, Cambridge in 1918.  The congregation joins in singing many Christmas carols.  Choirs from a number of churches, including First Lutheran, sing separately and then as a combined choir.  Pastors from different churches read the scripture lessons and a whole host of scrumptious cookies await you at the fellowship time afterwards. Come early to find parking and seating, as it is usually a full house.

F.I.S.H. Food Bank Dinner: First Lutheran will take a turn cooking and serving the evening meal for FISH Food Bank on Saturday, December 13th, here at FLC.  We start setting up and cooking at 3 pm and serve the dinner at 5 pm.  Clean up usually takes about an hour.  Come for all or part of it as your schedule allows.

Update: For the rest of the month of December the Saturday Food Bank Dinners will be here at FLC. But the M/W/F lunches will be at Mercer Creek Church, where the food boxes are also given out.

New Members to add to your phone directories, please contact the office for this information.
