Year end Statements are ready to be picked up, in the Fellowship HallWe still have a few envelopes that need to picked up too.

Annual Meeting of First Lutheran Church: Sunday, Jan 29th. Our youth will be serving their fabulous baked potato bar, so you won’t go hungry.  Immediately after lunch we will have our annual meeting, the main purpose of which is to pass an annual budget and elect church council members.  So we need all voting members to stay for a brief meeting.  (If you are an adult or a confirmed youth, you are a voting member.)

If anyone is interested in helping at the Cold Weather Shelter, you can signup online at http://signup.com/go/JM7XYX, you will need to set up an account or login using Facebook.

Please sign up to bring cookies or other refreshments for fellowship time after the service.  There are lots of empty dates!  The sign-up is on the kitchen door.  Thank you!

Nursery Help Needed:  Please consider signing up to occasionally help out in our nursery during the service if and when we have children up to age 4 who do not remain in the service.  See the sign up next to the youth bulletin board in the fellowship hall and choose a Sunday.  Thank you!

In response to the local KKK fliers that have been found around town, the Ellensburg Police Department issued the following statement: The flyers do not make any threats, specific or general and are not addressed towards any specific person or group. While free speech, the flyer's message of anti semitism and racism will be offensive to most members of our community. The Ellensburg Police Department and the City of Ellensburg values diversity and inclusion. And our community's message of acceptance and tolerance is much stronger than hateful and divisive flyers randomly placed on car windshields in a parking lot.”

It is Movie Night at Cramers Home Furnishings again this February 11th. For those of you that have joined us over the past few years, we are excited to see you again. This year’s movie, October Sky, is a true story depicting the life of NASA rocket engineer Homer Hickman. It is an inspiring story that we know the whole family will enjoy. We hope you will join us for an evening of great fun. The best part is not only will you have a great time, but all the proceeds will go to benefit Kittitas County Habitat For Humanity. The ticket price includes popcorn, drinks and an entry in the “win the recliner you watch the movie from drawing”. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased at the event. Movie Night sold out last year, so please come by Cramers Home Furnishings or The Habitat For Humanity office/store to get your tickets early. We have included a link to the trailer for October Sky below. We look forward to seeing all of you there.

Youth Activities

The big weekend is upon us!  We are getting ready to have our annual Potato Bar Fundraiser.  Please sign up to donate a food item - **If you are donating potatoes, have them to the church before Saturday!**

Saturday, Jan 28:  It's Tater Time!!!!  Come help us scrub the spuds on Saturday at 10 a.m.  First one to the kitchen gets the "magic scrubby sponge"!

Sunday, Jan 29:  Annual Potato Bar Fundraiser!  Server baked potatoes and chili to hungry congregational members.  We will need people in the kitchen and runners for refilling bowls and beverage containers.  Choose where you will be - but choose wisely!

Sunday, Jan 29:  Hot Cocoa and Silly Gift Exchange!  After we clean up from the fundraiser, we will sneak back into the preschool room for some homemade hot cocoa and our gift exchange.  Make sure your gift is under $5.00!

Why are we fundraising?  In addition to the activities we do, many youth members have requested to do more "big" fun things outside of church.  To keep costs down and ensure all youth members and friends can come, we raise the money to cover most of the entry cost.  Our fundraising isn't just for taking trips, it's to keep our Family Fun Nights going, supply our activities and events within the church, and provide scholarships to camps.  We have a lot going on!
