Last Supper Pageant:

Anyone that would like to participate in the Last Supper Pageant on Maundy Thursday, April 5th: please contact Sheila Johnson at 929-3877-cell or at home 968-3967.

We will start practicing in February, so please be inspired to share your talents.  I need people to read parts for the 12 disciples and Jesus.  Plus, I need extras for costumes, props, set up, and lighting.  I would appreciate whatever help you can give.

Community Christmas Basket Update – Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Community Christmas Basket program.  We collected $1,284 with matching funds from Thrivent Financial for a total of $2,568.

Thrivent Appreciation Dinner – An appreciation dinner for all Thrivent members will be held January 21 at the Ellensburg Pasta Company beginning at 6:00 p.m.  If you plan on attending please let James Stolte or Donna Morris know so we can give an estimate of numbers to the restaurant.  The chapter will be paying for the dinner.  See you there.

Are you missing any dishes or containers? In the kitchen, on the corner counter are a bunch of misc. dishes and containers that need to find their way home.  If any of these are yours please, pick them up.  Thank you!!!

Refreshments are needed for fellowship time after worship each

Sunday.  There are lots of openings for upcoming Sundays.

Please sign up on the back of the kitchen door.

Stewardship Stu here with some questions. How important is First Lutheran Church in your life? How important is our ministry to the community and our outreach to our neighbors? Does our Preschool, our Sunday School, our work with Jr. and Sr. High School and College students make a difference in the lives of our young people?   Are we supportive of our staff?   Are we grateful for the work they do to bring us the Word and Sacraments, Worship and Music, and the blessings we receive through the weekly

bulletins and monthly Flare they prepare for us?    Why are so few of us participating in the life and welfare of our church and it's mission?   As I have so often I ask for you to pray about your own commitment to God's work, and to pray about your reasons for

being a member here, what that means in your life, and what your response to the needs of our church should be. Please. Pray. See you in church. Stu

The Annual Meeting of First Lutheran Church will be held Sunday, January 29th after worship. We need all voting members to stay (if you are an adult or confirmed youth, you are a voting member) and help pass a budget and elect four new council members. The youth will be serving their baked potato bar, so you won’t go hungry.

If you head up a group or ministry, please submit a brief written report to the Church Office by Tuesday, January 17th.

Event Planning Meeting: Following this morning worship, the Youth will have a brief Event Planning Meeting. Anyone interested in the Youth program is welcome to join us. We’ll discuss the Winter Retreat, Annual Meeting Lunch, and other upcoming events.

Winter Youth Retreat Registration: The Winter Youth Retreat isn’t far away. So far, we haven’t had anyone sign up. Our goal is to get ten people committed by next Sunday, January 15. If we fail to reach that amount, we will reconsider the event.

Winter Youth Retreat: During Presidents’ Day Weekend, FLC Youth will travel to Lazy-F Ranch for a couple nights away in the snow. It will be a time for play and worship,

including running in the woods, tubing, skating, and avoiding snowballs. We will also sing and study as we set ourselves apart devoted to God and his people. Watch for more information and a sign-up sheet. We are restricted to the first twenty people signed up. There will be a $30/per person cost.

Friday, February 17–Sunday morning, February 19.

Youth Updates: Do you want Youth updates through e-mail? If so, please e-mail Joe at flcyouth.eburg@gmail.com to be included on our news and events e-mail list. You can also watch the bulletin, the FLC web site, the Youth Facebook page, and the FLARE for more information.
