Thank you to Pastor Chris Peterson for presiding over the baptism of Finnegan Hess this morning.

 

Flowers for today are provided by David & Laurae Lygre in honor of their grandson’s baptism.

 

Pastor Dennis will be away on vacation Monday, July 16 through Sunday, July 29th. 

 

Christine, our office administrator will be out of the office Monday, July 30-Thursday, August 2nd and Tuesday, August 7-Thursday, August 9th.  Please have all bulletin announcements in by Wednesday, July 25th.  The office will be open 9-noon Monday-Thursday. 

 

FISH Opportunities:

FISH Adopt a Shelf Program …. Soup…. This summer June, July and August, First Lutheran is participating in FISH Food Bank’s adopt a shelf program.  If possible, these need to be pull-top cans of soup.  This shelf holds all kinds of soups, from broth to hearty vegetable to meaty Italian wedding soup.  Please just bring them to church with you and fill our food bank box by the office door.  We need to provide at least 50 cans a week.

        FISH "Picnic in the Parks" food distribution program at summer school and parks every weekday.    This year, children will be given sack lunches, meeting all nutritional guidelines.  Volunteers are needed to fill the sacks from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. VOLUNTEERS ARE ALSO NEEDED. Hours are 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.  Please call the food bank at 925-5900 to find out how and when to help this fine program.  Outreach

 

Prayer Vigil for keeping families together.  Monday-Thursday 9a.m.-noon at First Lutheran and noon to 3p.m. at United Methodist. Anyone is invited to come in for silent prayer.  We pray that children will soon be  reunited with their parents and better immigration practices will prevail.  And pray for whatever is on your heart and mind for a few minutes, half an hour or whatever you have time for.

 


Youth Activities

Youth Group (grades 6 - 12)

 

Tuesday - Trip to Moses Lake!  Sign up on the board for transportation.  Admission is $12 or $13 for adults.  We will leave the church at 9 a.m. (the park opens at 11 and there is always a line).  Bring a towel, lunch, snacks, and water to drink.
