Pastor Dennis will be back in the office tomorrow, July 30th.

 

The FLC Women’s Retreat is planned for September 28-30 at Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center close to town in the Manastash Canyon.  The cost for two nights in the Skyline Lodge and four meals is $110 per person.  There will be time for Bible studies, recreation, and fellowship.  We need a minimum of 20 ladies, so put it on your calendar and pick up the informational paper and registration form on the table in the fellowship hall today!  Please return your form and fee to the church office by Aug. 12th.  Hope you can join us!

 

FISH Adopt a Shelf Program….Soup…. This summer June, July and August, First Lutheran is participating in FISH Food Bank’s adopt a shelf program.  If possible, these need to be pull-top cans of soup.  This shelf holds all kinds of soups, from broth to hearty vegetable to meaty Italian wedding soup.  Please just bring them to church with you and fill our food bank box by the office door.  We need to provide at least 50 cans a week.

 

FISH "Picnic in the Parks" food distribution program at summer school and parks every weekday.    This year, children will be given sack lunches, meeting all nutritional guidelines.  Volunteers are needed to fill the sacks from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. VOLUNTEERS ARE ALSO NEEDED. Hours are 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.  Please call the food bank at 925-5900 to find out how and when to help this fine program.  Outreach

 

Prayer Vigil for keeping families together.  Monday-Thursday 9a.m.-noon at First Lutheran and noon to 3p.m. at United Methodist.  Anyone is invited to come in for silent prayer.  We pray that children will soon be  reunited with their parents and better immigration practices will prevail.  And pray for whatever is on your heart and mind for a few minutes, half an hour or whatever you have time for.

 


Youth Activities

FLC Youth (grades 6 - 12)

Tuesday - Annual Moses Lake Trip!

Leave the church at 9 am (to get in line by 1030).  The park opens at 11.  Bring a sack lunch, towel, swim gear, SUN SCREEN, and water!  Admission is $12 to get in.  Racing one another on the big slide is free!  We need one more driver!

 

Saturday - FLC Swim 7:30 to 9 (or 10 if you are 13 or older)  Meet at Memorial Pool.  Admission is $3

 

Ongoing = Soup drive and School Supply Drive!

 

Amy will be on Vacation from Aug 5 to Aug 17.  Send emails, but expect slow replies!
