Ministry meetings are happening today after worship. These are always open meetings, so feel free to join a table.

Thank you to Judy Ragland for playing the organ today.

Flowers for today are provided by Don & Donna Morris in honor of Don’s 85th birthday.  Please join us for a piece of cake after worship to celebrate!

Dear First Lutheran Church Family, Thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers for Harry.  It’s what kept him going for so long.  “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him.”  Psalm 145:18 Love to you all, Mike Kukes

Thomas Snedeker will perform his Senior Percussion Recital today, Sunday, June 10 at 4 p.m. in the CWU Music Building Recital Hall. Works for snare, marimba and tympani will be included.  The recital is free and open to the public.

Pastor Dennis will be at Pacific Lutheran University for continuing education June 11-13.  In an emergency his cell phone is 929-2927.  The church office is, of course, still open.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL…is right around the corner!   Sunday, June 24 through Thursday, June 28 each evening from 6:00—8:15p.m. We’ll start with dinner at 6:00p.m. followed by stories, crafts, games, and singing.  Registration forms and a parent letter can be found in the fellowship hall. To all—please check out the sign-up board to bring cookies, help with a meal, or to help in other areas.  Children age 4 through those entering 6th grade are invited!  Kids—don’t forget to invite a friend!

FISH Adopt a Shelf Program ….Soup….This summer June, July and August, First Lutheran is participating in FISH Food Bank’s adopt a shelf program.  Starting Thursday, June 14th we will be bringing canned soup to help fill our shelf at the food bank.  These need to be pull-top cans of soup.  This shelf holds all kinds of soups, from broth to hearty vegetable to meaty Italian wedding soup.  Think of wholesome and filling soups, like barley or rice and chicken, lentils, bean soup and chicken noodle.  Generic is fine, and bringing one or two kinds will also work.  This shelf holds a lot!  Please just bring them to church with you and fill our food bank box by the office door.  We need to provide at least 50 cans a week.

Youth Activities

Youth Group (grades 6 - 12)

Wednesday - Summer Kick Off BBQ.  Bring a meat or veggie to grill and a side to share.  Family of youth members welcome and incoming youth members wanted!  Starts at 6:00 pm!

Youth members wanted to help out with VBS!  sign up on the board - there's lots to do.  Crafts, story time, games, group leaders!  Lots of fun in a tropical island setting.  Think toucans and stingrays!

July's event dates (more information on the board):

July 7  Youth Swim

July 11 Chillin’ at the Church

TBD July Movie Matinee

July 26  Boulder Cave Hike

July 31 Moses Lake (families welcome)

Soup on a Shelf:  Instead of hosting a week to serve food, the FISH Food bank is having us adopt a shelf in their pantry.  We get to fill the soup shelf!  The food bank would like about 50 cans a week.  If we all bring one can to church on Sunday, how much soup would we have?  As youth, think of your favorite soup and grab a can or two for our shelf!  We will be picking up our favorite: chicken and stars or Mario Chicken Noodle!
