Flowers today are in honor of Della Johnson Pedersen's 100th birthday, given by her nieces and nephew: Keith Johnson, Anne Bounds, and Laurie Johnson. Della was baptized (1913) and confirmed (1926) at First Lutheran.

Potluck Supper:  Everyone is invited to attend the Potluck Supper on Thursday, June 28, the last night of Vacation Bible School at the West Ellensburg Park covered area.  You don’t have to be involved with VBS to attend.  We’ll start about 6:00 p.m.—bring a dish to share and enjoy good food and fellowship and watch the kids play!  It’s always an enjoyable evening.  Please join us (and say a prayer for good weather)!

Service in the Street with First Christian is set for Sunday, July 15th at 10a.m. on 6th Ave., (providing the city approves our street closure application.) Connections will lead the music. Pastor Don Green and myself  will both preach (short) sermons. We will have Holy Communion. First Lutheran will provide wine and bread. First Christian will provide grape juice and bread. It is First Lutheran’s turn to provide refreshments. I urge us to serve this outside rather than in our fellowship hall. We have light weight tables which are easy to transport. I will need help setting up chairs in the street that morning. Pastor Dennis

Matthew Erickson, Pat Erickson’s grandson, will be ordained here on Saturday, August 11th. Bishop Martin Wells will be here along with other Pastors and friends of Matthew. I’ll be here.  The congregation is cordially invited. The worship service (holy communion) will be late morning or early afternoon. Matthew’s family will take care of the food. Matthew has been called to serve as pastor of Calvary Lutheran in Post Falls, Idaho.

“I started coming to W.O.W. when I found myself with more time on my hands even though Sheila had invited me many times. She talked about how encouraging it is to worship in the middle of the week, and how her  and Pastor David had started W.O.W. a long time ago. Thank you for inviting me, I can’t believe I didn’t come before. I feel refreshed after worship and encouraged to continue with my week. Sometimes with our busy schedules we seem to think that Sunday worship is good enough, not enough time to get up early and go to church in the middle of the week. I encourage you to take advantage of W.O.W. or at home singing praises to God for everyday He gives and for His loving grace.”

“My lips will shout for joy When I sing praise to you, I whom you have redeemed.” Psalm 71:23

FISH Summer Lunch Program: Beginning tomorrow, June 25, FLC will assist the FISH Summer Lunch Program, a program designed to distribute food to kids in the community. This is an amazing program that includes area churches. FLC is signed up to provide activities and serve food for the week. We'll be at Kiwanis Park between 11:30–12:30, Monday through Friday. We need help! So far, we only have a few people signed up, but we expect 120 kids. Even if you can only be there one day, we need you — and (yes, this may sound cliché, the kids in this community need you). We need people to play games, talk with kids, help with service.

It's hard to imagine an opportunity that more clearly reflects the love of Christ: playing with kids and serving food. Please contact Joe (via this e-mail or phone: 607-1454) if you can help. You can also sign up on the gym door or through Facebook. There aren't any special requirements — just willingness and time. We need Youth and adults. Thanks.

Girls’ Bible Study: This summer, Amanda is hosting a bi-weekly, evening bible study for Youth girls at her apartment. The next study is Saturday, June 30, 6:30–8:00. It’s not too late to join. Five meetings remain: (June 30, July 14, 28, August 11, 25). This is open to all Youth girls (including our newest Youth, those students now completing fifth grade). For more information, please check with Joe or Amanda.

Yakima Bears Baseball: Yakima Bears: Join us as we travel south for some baseball. On Monday, July 2, we’ll watch the Yakima Bears take on the Spokane Indians. The game starts at 7:05. We’ll leave FLC at 5:45. Entry cost is $6.50. (Chaperones and drivers needed)

Facebook and Event Updates: Although the Youth Department sends out e-mails from time-to-time, our usual way of communicating is with the Facebook page. Remember that you don’t necessarily need to be on Facebook to use that page. Just go to our address — www.facebook.com/flcyouth — and keep updated on the latest news and events. And, if you “Like” us, you can receive automatic updates and join events.

Summer Youth Schedule: Just because school ends, doesn’t mean his people stop
meeting together, worshiping him in fellowship, discipleship, and service. Youth and volunteers are needed throughout the summer to continue the work (and play) God has for us. Please pick up a copy of the summer schedule from the “kid’s table” outside the church office or request a PDF copy (flcyouth.eburg@gmail.com).

Youth Updates: Do you want Youth updates through e-mail? If so, please e-mail Joe at flcyouth.eburg@gmail.com
to be included on our news and events e-mail list. You can also watch the bulletin, the FLC web site, the Youth Facebook page, and the FLARE for more information.
