The Wednesday Soup and Bread Supper will be hosted this week by members of Youth and Education.  Please join us at 6:00 p.m. for a delicious meal. At 6:45 we’ll engage in some Bible Study around tables.  With some help from John Hiigel’s “Partnering with the King” we’ll read and discuss some passages in the Gospel of Matthew.  Then at 7:10 pm we’ll move into the sanctuary for a 20 minute Holden Evening Prayer service.  Come as you are to these fun and informal evenings of good food, fellowship, Bible study and worship. March to Easter: Lenten Youth Night (for High Schoolers too):  Come for supper, stay for the FLC Youth service.  We will have a short game/ice breaker, activity, and time for devotion and reflection.

 

Palm Sunday April 13:  All children ages preschool through 5th grade are invited to participate in the “Procession of the Palms” on Palm Sunday.  In the weeks ahead children will continue to practice the songs during Sunday School openings at 9:00 and during Bible Adventures.  On April 13, please meet in the Bible Adventure room right before the service to receive palms and to line up.  Children will process in singing and lay the palms by the altar as we celebrate Jesus as King!

 

Sunday School classes for children and youth will resume next Sunday, April 6.  Meet in the fellowship hall first to practice songs for Palm Sunday and Easter. 

 

Munch Madness: FLC has partnered with Umpqua and Sterling Banks for the final weigh in on Friday, April 4th. Thank you to everyone for bringing so much food for our F.I.S.H. Food Bank.

             Total weight of all food brought in so far during the competition is 11,241 pounds. The following are things that are needed most. 

Canned Goods: Chili 15 or 40 ounce cans, Progresso or Campbell soups in the 18 or 50 ounce cans, Chef Boyardee, Sliced carrots, Mixed vegetables, Chicken breast in 12 ounce cans, Baked beans, Sweet peas, Beef stew, Pork & beans, Refried beans, Peaches, Pears, Diced tomatoes, Salmon

In addition: Vegetable oil, Sloppy joe mix, Restricted diet items (“sugar free”, “gluten free”, diabetic approved, “low sodium”, vegetarian), Newborn baby formula, Popcorn, Pet food (canned or dried), Personal hygiene products for women

Individual servings of juice, fruit, snacks, meals (soup, chef Boyardee etc) for the Backpack for Kids Program.  FISH sends children home with backpacks of food for Saturday and Sunday, which include single servings of 2 breakfast items, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners.  This is the only way some children in our community get their meals over the weekend.
