Pastor Dave Ellingson, former Campus Ministry Pastor at FLC, is doing a presentation at Hal Holmes TODAY at 4:00pm on his 2,300 mile kayak adventure down the Mississippi River in the summer of 2012.  The presentation will include pictures and stories of the trip.  He hopes lots of friends from First Lutheran and the community can come!  Dave is currently a professor at Trinity Lutheran College in Everett.

The Wednesday Soup and Bread Supper will be hosted this week by members of the Worship and Music.  Please join us at 6:00 p.m. for a delicious meal. At 6:45 we’ll  engage in some Bible Study around tables.  With some help from John Hiigel’s “Partnering with the King” we’ll read and discuss some passages in the Gospel of Matthew.  Then at 7:10 pm we’ll move into the sanctuary for a 20 minute Holden Evening Prayer service.

Congregational Life—March 19th

Stewardship & Property Management—March 26th

Outreach—April 9th

Munch Madness: In an effort to support our local food bank we are holding our first annual Ellensburg Morning Rotary Munch Madness competition. The goal is to engage the Ellensburg area business and organizations in a friendly competition against each other to raise food for F.I.S.H. Food Bank. The Munch Madness competition will be structured similar to the NCAA “March Madness” college basketball tournament. Business and organizations participating will be placed in tournament style brackets as a team, and on a weekly basis from the dates of March 3rd-April 4th teams will collect food.  On Fridays during these dates, teams will bring their collected food to the Food Bank from the hours of 3-5p for weigh in. Results will be published in the Daily Record.

Thank you to Tor Blaisdell and Betty Kramlich for leading our hymn-na-gras last Sunday evening, March 2nd. And thanks to everyone who brought jambalaya, salads and desserts.

Thank you to everyone for the prayers, cards, food and visits during my recent carpal tunnel surgery and recovery.  Sheila Johnson
