Vacation Bible School is right around the corner!  SAVE THE DATES:  Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2 each evening from 6:00—8:15p.m. Registration forms and a parent letter can be found in the fellowship hall.  All—please check out the sign-up board to bring cookies, help with a meal, or to help in other areas.  Children age 4 through those entering 6th grade are invited! 

 

Cookies for Sunday, we are trying something new. The first Sunday of the month Outreach provides the cookies. Second Sunday of the month will be Stewardship and Worship & Music. Third Sunday of the month will be Education and Property Management. Fourth Sunday of the month will be Congregational Life and Youth. Please, still feel free to help the ministries out even if you are not apart of them. Signups are on the kitchen door. Cookies and kitchen cleanup is needed. Thank you!


Graduating High School Seniors, next Sunday, May 31st. We will be blessing, recognizing and giving gifts to our graduates next Sunday.  Cake afterwards, of course!

 

Food Bank Dinner: It is First Lutheran’s turn to cook the FISH Food Bank meal this Saturday, May 30th. We plan on doing something quick and easy for after Glen’s McLean’s Memorial Service-probably pancakes, breakfast meats and fruit. We’ll start  cooking about 3p and serve around 5p. Let Pastor Dennis know if you can help.

 

3rd Annual Cameroon Dinner and Live Auction, Saturday, May 30th 6p.m. Aviator Ln. off Kittitas Highway (between #6 Rd and Ferguson Rd). $30 per adult and $5 per child (5 and up) by May 29th.  The proceeds support the construction project of a primary health clinic in the village of Bawa, Cameroon, Africa. To purchase tickets call 962-8472 or 925-1788.

 

Host Families Needed: Again this summer youth from the Chernobyl area will be coming to Ellensburg from July 2- Aug 6th.  Three host families are still needed (the youth are in host's homes for about 4 weeks). This is a very gratifying experience!!  Mrs. Cec Calhoun, 925-3888, can talk to you if you are interested.  If you cannot be a host the whole time, she is also interested in hearing from you.  Think about this!!  Pray about this!!

 

Dear Sponsor Churches, Thank you for your ongoing and generous response and support of FISH. We are busy distributing the donations we've received from you and the Kittitas Valley. We need your feedback and ideas!

WHAT Community Brainstorming Session to update you on our recovery plans and to get your ideas for design of our remodeled building. We want to assure that we continue to fulfill FISH mission and goals with this building.

Youth Activities

Sunday, May 31 - Putt-putt golf at the Yakima family fun center!  Leave the church at 1 p.m. and return at 5 p.m.   $5.50 per round, plus bring quarters for the arcade. 

 

Friday, June 12 - FLC Youth Lock-In.  We want lots of people for lots of fun.  This is a middle/high school event.  We will have a Velcro wall, Jousting set, and more!! We will need snacks and chaperons to make this event happen!
