Thank you to Judy Ragland for playing the organ today while Betty’s off fishing.

Vacation Bible School:  June 29-July 3 for kids age 4 to those entering 6th grade.  Please see the table in the fellowship hall for details and registration forms.  There is also a sign-up on the easel for various ways to help out.  Can you be a cookie-baker,  provide food for a night, or to be a crew or station leader?  Lots of open positions, your help is appreciated very much!

F.I.S.H. Food Bank Dinner: First Lutheran will take a turn cooking and serving the evening meal at our FISH Food Bank on Saturday, May 31st.  We start setting up and cooking at 3 pm and serve the dinner at 5 pm.  Clean up usually takes about an hour.  Come for all or part of it as your schedule allows.

Thank you to everyone who bought goodies last Sunday at the Bread for the World Bake Sale.  We raised $263.27 which will be matched by Thrivent for a total of $526.54!  Thank you also to all the bakers who provided items for the sale.

All Thrivent members are invited to a free dinner on Thursday, June 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Ellensburg Pasta Company. If you think you might attend let Don Morris or James Stolte know so we have an estimate of how many people may be coming.

Today after worship is the last Sunday for this class:  What does it mean to be a Lutheran Christian?  Sundays during May Pastor Ginny Krekling will lead discussions on key beliefs of the Lutheran Church as well as some insights into several other denominations.

Oso, WA - Mudslide Relief (UPDATE) To date we have received $465 from the contributions from First Lutheran Church. We will be collecting additional funds through the month of May and Thrivent Financial will be matching that amount up to $500 and will be sending the money in the beginning of June. You still have until May 31st to get your contributions in to the church. Help make a difference in the lives of those who are trying to rebuild their lives after this natural disaster. Lutherans have a reputation for being there for the "long haul" when disasters occur.  Donations received will be used to address both immediate and long-term needs. If you would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to First Lutheran Church and note “Oso Mudslide Fund” on the memo line.  Thank you for your continuing thoughts and prayers, and for your financial support.

The local Sparrow Choir will present a benefit concert for F.I.S.H. food bank on Friday, May 30th at 7:00 p.m. at the Mercer Creek Church.  $7ea/$10family.

Next Sunday, June 1st we will be recognizing our graduating High School Seniors: Kyle Hickman, Charlie Swan, Erik Hurson, Kristin Zollars, Ryan Johnson, Matthew Ferris, Cassie Johnson, Gese Gruber and Dayce Childress. Quilts, mini-interviews, a blessing and cake after worship.
