Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you to Judy Ragland for playing the organ today.

BREAD FOR THE WORLD PHONE CALLS. If you are thinking it is not that long ago since we urged you to call Rep. Dave Reichert and Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, you aren’t wrong. Bread is urging us to repeat the activity now because of pending legislation in Congress. It is again time to use our collective Christian voices to end hunger. This effort is needed to end maternal and child malnutrition. We live in a world where a women dies every two seconds from complications in pregnancy or childbirth or a child dies-often from malnutrition. We must call our elected representatives and urge them to take the needs of hungry women and children around the world seriously. We thank you for the faithful advocacy you have shown, together as one Christian voice, we can assure that women and children around the world will never again suffer from hunger and poverty. Information needed to place these three phone calls will be provided on Sunday, May 15th. Constitution Update: We have already received our revised constitution back from the Synod and with a few very minor changes it looks good. The next step is to have a congregational meeting to approve it. We don’t want to rush anyone on this (there’s no hurry), so please look it over during May and the summer. It’s on our website flc-eburg.org or paper copies are available in the office. The Council proposes a discussion meeting on Sunday, September 25th with perhaps a vote on Sunday, October 9th. Thanks again to Neil Caulkins, Mike Krekling, Sheila Johnson and David Lygre for their work on the constitution and by-laws.
