Flowers for today are provided by Don & Donna Morris in honor of Donna’s birthday.

Kitchen TOWELS: has anyone recently taken some kitchen towels home to wash?  The drawers are looking rather bare!  Thank you!!

New Members Class Nov. 13, 20 Dec. 4, 11 Sundays after worship, in the ChapelAnyone who is interested in joining First Lutheran Church, or simply wants a little refresher on what Lutherans believe and do is invited to attend these four classes after Sunday worship services.  We’ll meet for an hour or less with Pastor Dennis and read together Dan Erlander’s book, “Baptized We Live.”  Please plan on attending all four classes if you can.  It’s a great time to ask questions and get to know some of your brothers and sisters in Christ.

For Bread for the World members like us, advocacy for hungry and poor people is a matter of faith.  We are moved by God’s grace to help our neighbors – whether they are next door or on the other side of the world.  We push for changes in those laws and systems that enable hunger and poverty to persist. For more than 40 years Bread for the World has lobbied the U.S. Congress and presidents to address the root causes of hunger at home and abroad. For  the work of Bread for the world, funds are needed.  Next Sunday, Outreach will sponsor its annual bake sale.  Please bring baked goods of all sorts – quick breads, pies, cookies, well-wrapped loaves of homemade or purchased breads to be sold during fellowship hour, with all proceeds of course going to Bread.

A Community Thanksgiving Service will be here at FLC on Sunday, November 20th at 7:00p.m. Pastors from other churches will read scripture, offer brief mediations or prayers and the offering will (probably) go to FISH Food Bank. Folks from all churches are welcome, so invite your friends. We could use some coffee and cookie hosts for the fellowship time after the service.  Sponsored by Kittitas Valley Ministerial Association.

FISH NEWS:  Thanksgiving is coming up, and we would love if you would consider gifting food or funds to us during this holiday season. We can stretch your donated dollars further than you could ever imagine! Through generous partners such as Northwest Harvest and second harvest, we can purchase food items at a fraction of the retail price. If you would prefer to give food items, FISH especially needs canned goods that have a pull-tab top.

Canned Fruit – All kinds
Soups - All kinds

Canned Meat & Prepared Food - Tuna, Ravioli, Chili
Baby Food & Baby Diapers
Canned Vegetables - Corn, Beans, Peas
Thank you for thinking of your hungry neighbors during this time of year! We can't express how much this wonderfully loving and giving community means to us!
