Flowers for today are provided by Don & Donna Morris in honor of Donna’s birthday.

Thanks to your generosity on Sunday, November 10th the Youth collected $296.76 which they used to buy Thanksgiving foods for our F.I.S.H. Food Bank.  On Tuesday, Youth Fun Night, our Middle/High youth divided up into 5 teams.  Each team had $86.25 to spend on Thanksgiving food to be donated to the food bank.  They were given 45 minutes to shop at any local grocery store.  There was a competition for which team collected the most items, the heaviest items, and which team spent closest to the amount given, etc.  Collectively, the teams spent $335.65, bought 356 items, and it all weighed a total of 405 lbs.!!  (And they fun shopping!)  The bounty of their efforts is on display today in the fellowship hall.

FLC gave 400 pounds of food to F.I.S.H. Food Bank in October.  Thank you!

BREAD FOR THE WORLD BAKE SALE is NEXT Sunday, November 24th God’s Work, Our Hands. Break out the bread pans!  Muster the muffin tins!  Prepare the pies!  Bake the brownies!  Call out the cooks!  It’s time for our annual bread (etc!) sale to raise money for Bread for the World!  By uniting behind BFTW, we support a strong voice in Washington on behalf of our nation’s and our world’s hungry people.  We help to lift our brothers and sisters out of poverty and despair.  We do God’s work. You might be able to pick up something for your Thanksgiving meal at the sale. Outreach ministry thanks you from the bottom of our mixing bowls for your continued and generous support.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will again match the money we raise, doubling our effect.  So all you cooks and bakers – raise clouds of flour, bag up your baked goods and bring them to church (a little early, please) on the morning of the sale, November 24th.  Our savvy savants will take it from there. Thank you for your participation!

Stewardship and Thanksgiving: In this season of thanksgiving, a sincere 'thank you' is in order to everyone who supports our congregation throughout the year with their attendance, service and regular financial contributions. For those of you who are interested, the church offers electronic giving options for making donations on a scheduled, automated basis. It's convenient for you and provides much-needed financial consistency for the church. Pick up an authorization form.

Friday Food Backpack program for school kids through FISH Food Bank.  So far FLC has donated 10 backpacks. Thank you very much!  More are needed.

Refreshments are needed for Fellowship Time after the worship service each Sunday.  There are lots of open spots.  Please see the sign-up on the kitchen door to bring something to serve:  cookies, sweet bread, muffins, fruit, crackers & cheese, just to name a few of the possibilities.  Thank you!

Community Thanksgiving Worship Service at FLC Tues. Nov 26 at 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to an informal community wide Thanksgiving Worship Service here at First Lutheran on the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving Day.  There will be songs and prayers and scripture readings and brief sermonettes.  A number of pastors from various churches in town, including FLC, will be taking part.  The offerings of money or packaged foods will be given to our FISH Food Bank.  Coffee and cookies afterwards, of course.  Let’s come together and give thanks to our wonderful God!
