Today, we welcome Pastor Paul Benz of Faith Action Network to preach and lead the Adult Sunday Class.

Rev. Paul Benz, FAN’s Director of Legislative Affairs, is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He served as director of the Lutheran Public Policy Office of Washington previous to his role at Faith Action Network. Paul was presented the 2008 Golden “Skate” award from the Washington Sustainable Food & Farming Network for the outstanding work he did getting the “Local Farms Healthy Kids” bill passed and signed into law as one of the first in the nation to establish a Farm to School program bringing locally grown food into the public schools. Paul lives with his wife in Everett and has two grown children.

Faith Action Network (FAN) is a statewide network of people of faith uniting to take courageous public action for justice. FAN develops an annual Legislative Agenda, and faithful advocates across the state respond to advocacy action alerts, hold offerings of letters, sponsor issue forums, meet with their legislators, and take other action to advocate for a just and sustainable future. FAN also builds ecumenical and interfaith relationships, learning from the diverse perspectives of our faith traditions and forging a unified voice and public witness for the common good.
