Pastor Dennis will be up at Holden Village for continuing education - Monday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept 22.

Confirmation News: Classes start Wednesday, September 28th 6:30-7:30p. However, you are welcome at Youth Night with Joe Johnson on Wednesday, September 21st at 6:30p.m.

 

Adult Education on Sundays: 8:45 to 9:45a.m.We are studying “The Jesus Creed” (Love God and love neighbor): A DVD/Discussion Bible Study  featuring Scott McKnight.

Everyone is welcome to join Pastor Dennis in the Chapel Room.

 

Come and join the Choir!  We sing our praises to God every Thursday at 7p.m.

 The “Women of Faith Retreat” is planned for October 14-16 at Lazy F Camp.  All women from First Lutheran and friends from other faith communities are welcome to attend.  Registration forms are now available on the small table in the fellowship hall by the easels.  We will enjoy Bible study, sharing our faith, the great outdoors, time to relax, and of course, no cooking!  Our theme this year is “Abundance” based on John 10:10.  Please see the invitation letter by the registration forms for more information.  

 

E-prayer:  Several members of FLC have expressed interest in having an e-prayer chain. (Our telephone prayer chain will keep going, of course. And if you would rather be part of that, let the church office know.) We could easily send our prayer requests via e-mail from the church office. Coming soon—the  women’s rummage sale!

Bring your items in beginning Mon. Sept. 26 for the sale set for Friday, Sept. 30 and

Saturday, Oct. 1.  Clean clothes, books, kitchen and household items gladly accepted!  (No electronics, shoes, exercise equipment or magazines).  All proceeds go to charity.  Men are doing soup and bread for lunch. 

 

Please bring pies!  It’s a great way to use up some of that summer produce, please have your pies here by Friday morning the 30th. 


Youth Night: This Wednesday, from 6:30 to 7:45, Youth Night returns for the 2011-2012 season. We begin with a special Youth Night, inviting

Confirmation students to join with High School

students for this first YN. We’ll have snacks, games, and time to worship and grow in God. Please pray for a good year.

Youth Bar-B-Q: Special thanks to the Boasts for hosting last week’s Back-To-School BBQ. The food was great, and the fellowship was even better.

Youth Zones/ Youth Quake
FLC Youth have attended the Youth Zones/ Youth Quake events — open to middle and senior high students — in past years, though we missed last year. Start planning now for this great time of worship. Dates are set for Friday, November 18 through Sunday, November 20. More

information will come soon, including a sign-up sheet and

expected costs. If you are interested, check the web site (www.youthencounter.org). Our deadline for sign-up is Sunday, October 16. If you decide to attend after that date, you will pay a “late” registration and need to confirm openings. Pray and plan now!

FLU Shots: Kittitas County Health Department will host their drive through flu shot clinic on Saturday, October 1st at Grand Meridian Cinema Parking lot 504 E. Mountain View Ave. Influenza vaccines are $30, Pneumonia vaccine is $67, and children under 18 are free.

FISH News: In August FISH Food Bank fed 619 families.  Thank you for all your

donations!  Please, keep them coming.

SPECIAL GATHERING OF MEN'S LUNCHEON GROUP (that's all men who eat lunch!):  In addition to the regular bi-weekly schedule, the men's group will meet at

Rodeo City BBQ this coming Tuesday, September 20th at 11:45 a.m. for lunch, then will convoy to the airport to see Virgil Thovson's completed airplane, seen several years ago as a work in progress.  If you can't make lunch, meet at the eastern-most gate into airport property at 1:15 p.m.
