Confirmation Pizza Feed: Wednesday, September 14th, 6:30p.m. at First Lutheran Church. This is for 6th, 7th and 8th grade families. (9th graders we’ll start meeting in October.) Please tell Pastor Dennis how many from your family are coming so that he orders enough pizza. Church 925-2844, cell 929-2927 or email flceburg@yahoo.com  We’ll eat together, take a look at the confirmation year and do a little acolyte training. Should take about an hour.

 

Men’s Lunch: reminder no men’s lunch September 6th, Rodeo City is closed. We meet again on September 13th.  All men are welcome!

 

Sunday School Begins September 18th The first day of Sunday School classes will be Sunday, September 18.  All kids age 4 through 5th grade will meet during part of the worship service immediately after “Just for Kids” time, and not at 8:45. Middle/High School youth will continue to meet at 8:45 in the youth room off the gym, and the adult class will meet with Pastor Dennis at 8:45 in the chapel room down the hall. We will continue reading  and discussing “Manna & Mercy” Pastor Dan Erlander’s great overview of the Bible. There’s a class for everyone—hope to see you on September 18th!

Constitution & By Laws Discussion Sunday, September 25 after Worship We are in the process of updating our constitution to bring it in line with the ELCA model constitution. Neal Caulkins will be on hand to field questions and concerns. The plan then is to vote on the new constitution on Sunday, October 9th. Please join us for a short meeting Sunday, September 25th after worship.


Youth Activities


This weekend is for our talented youth to shine at the fair!  4-H, artists, Lego Masters, bakers, you all have been truly blessed!  We all are so proud of your amazing accomplishments!

 

Thank you to all who have been donating supplies for the community schools!  Karen McLean, a couple youth members, and I will be out delivering supplies this upcoming week.

 

Wednesday, September 7:  First day of school!  Woot -Woot!

 

Saturday, September 10:  FLC Youth Swim!  Details are on the board!!

 

Next Sunday:  God's Work. Our Hands.  Bring treats/snacks to church for Fellowship Hour.  Drop your goodies off in the kitchen before service starts.  After church sign posters for our local first responders and grab some information on emergency preparedness. 

 

Next Sunday is also Grandparent's day - give a grandparent a big hug!
