Change of venue for Men’s Lunch March 5 and 26 will be at The Palace Café in the Teanaway Room at 11:45a.m.  All men are welcome!

TODAY after worship, a Ministry Fair will be happening in the Fellowship Hall.  We are hoping to recruit and involve more people in Worship & Music, Youth, Education, Property Management, Congregational Life, Stewardship and Outreach.  Someone from each ministry will be at a table to greet you and explain more about what the ministry does.  Plus, there will be goodies at the ministry tables.

FISH Food Needs canned fruit and veggies, canned prepared foods (chili, ravioli), canned meats, rice, pasta, cereal.  People food only!  Please no big bags of rice or beans, only 1-2lb bags. If you are unable to shop cash donations are also being accepted by JulieAnna Boss and the office and she will do the shopping for you.

Thank you to the Boss family for shopping and transporting the food for weigh- ins.  Thank you also to Fred & Jean Cutlip for their continued support of the Food Bank.

The season of Lent begins this Ash Wednesday, March 6th with worship at 7pm. Our Methodist friends join us here at FLC for confession and forgiveness, imposition of ashes, scriptures, songs, a message and holy communion. “Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.”   Joel 2:13 Soup Suppers and worship start Wednesday, March 13th.

Weekend Nutrition—We are in need of food for weekend nutrition bags for 15 children at Lincoln Elementary.  Please bring your donations and place them in the box under the coat rack near the sanctuary doors.  Examples include: Chef Boyardee cups, mac ‘n’ cheese cups, fruit or pudding cups, small crackers and cheese packs, basically anything that is easy for kids to open to eat for lunch or dinner.  Bags are assembled here every Thursday for delivery to Lincoln.  If you would like to donate money, we will buy the food—please write out your check to FLC and put “Weekend Nutrition” on the memo line.  Thank you for your support!

Volunteer Opportunity:  “Lunch Buddies” is a group created to support students with social and emotional skills. This group encourages student interaction through conversation, support, and activities.  Mt. Stuart Elementary School is  looking for “Buddies” to spend lunch times with students in a small group or individually.  If you are interested, please call the office at Mt. Stuart for times and information at 925-8400.

Rise and Shine Teacher Position After 30 years of teaching, Laura Gorman is retiring the end of this school year.  She has loved her 13 years here at Rise and Shine, but she is now looking forward to spending more time being a grandma.  She will be greatly missed.  We thank her for her years of service and wish her the very best.  We are pleased to announce that Wendy Faubion, our teacher aide, will be returning next year for both classes. Advertising for the teacher position has begun.  The position is mornings only, September through May, formal training and experience required.  Anyone interested in applying for the position may contact the church office for more details.
