Flowers for today are provided by Jim & Sue Ayers.
Today we celebrate the staff of FLC. Too often we don't show our appreciation of their hard work. After worship, we will be serving cake in their honor. Please join us all & also give your personal thanks. Pastor Dennis, Carla, Christine, Betty, Tor, Amy, Laura, Ashley & Alyssa--thank you for your faithful service.
Habitat for Humanity of Kittitas County recently received some great news! Thrivent Builds is partnering with Habitat for the financing and building of the 17th Habitat House in Kittitas County! The home will be located in the Elk Heights location, with plans to break ground on April 23. There are many opportunities for Thrivent members to make a contribution and have their efforts counted toward meeting grant requirements. Build days are on Saturdays. Providing meals, snacks or beverages count toward volunteer hours also. Food items would be delivered to the Ellensburg Habitat store. To find out more about volunteering contact Carla Tacher at 509-962-5058 or email@example.com . Habitat is in the process of finishing up the current house and applications for the next recipient family are underway.

FISH Dinner Service. It’s time to pass the torch! For the past several years Pastor Dennis has so graciously served as “chief cook and bottle washer” for the Saturday FISH dinners that First Lutheran has prepared, served and cleaned up. He accepted the responsibility of scheduling the Saturday date, picking up the food, finding out what the menu would be, lining up volunteers and doing whatever else needed to be done to keep this Christian outreach going. Many thanks for all the months he has done this. The Outreach ministry is now asking for volunteers who will each sign up for one Saturday per month and be willing to coordinate (with help) the FISH dinner for that month. Please contact Patty Akers at firstname.lastname@example.org , or Fred or Jean Cutlip at email@example.com for more information.
AN INTERFAITH CELEBRATION OF EARTH DAY
On the afternoon of April 16, the community is invited to an interfaith celebration of the 45th anniversary of Earth Day at the United Methodist Church, 210 N. Ruby, Ellensburg. Representatives from local faith traditions – Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Unitarian, and more, will present the program. The Celebration service will start at 4:00pm to be followed by a community potluck at 5:00pm. People of good will of all faiths and those who profess no religion are invited to come and join hands. It is a sign of hope for our time that increasing numbers of people of faith are connecting and cooperating with others who hold differing beliefs to join together in a call for healing our common home, the Earth. For more information, e-mail Pastor Jen at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Rev. Bill at email@example.com.
