Our friend Grace Meyer died peacefully on April 3rd at the age of 88. A burial service is planned for April 13th. A memorial service here at the church will follow in May.

The Wednesday Soup and Bread Supper will be hosted this week by the members of Outreach. Please join us at 6:00 p.m. for a delicious meal. At 6:45 we’ll engage in some Bible Study around tables. With some help from John Hiigel’s “Partnering with the King” we’ll read and discuss some passages in the Gospel of Matthew. Then at 7:10 pm we’ll move into the sanctuary for a 20 minute Holden Evening Prayer service. Come as you are to these fun and informal evenings of good food, fellowship, Bible study and worship.

March to Easter: Lenten Youth Night (for High Schoolers too): Come for supper, stay for the FLC Youth service. We will have a short game/ice breaker, activity, and time for devotion and reflection.

Palm Sunday April 13: All children ages preschool through 5th grade are invited to participate in the “Procession of the Palms” on Palm Sunday. In the weeks ahead children will continue to practice the songs during Sunday School openings at 9:00 and during Bible Adventures. On April 13, please meet in the Bible Adventure room right before the service to receive palms and to line up. Children will process in singing and lay the palms by the altar as we celebrate Jesus as King!

Youth Fun Nights: the Second Tuesday of the month. Games, songs, Bible stories, prayers and dinner. This event will be Tuesday, April 8th.

The schedule will be:

4:30-5:30 ~ Elementary kids

5:30-5:45 ~ Music for all ages

5:45-6:15 ~ Dinner (for all—parents, too)

6:15-7:30 ~ Middle/high school youth

If you would like to help with these evenings, see Pastor Dennis or Amy McCoy. We plan on doing this every second Tuesday of the month, October through May.

F.I.S.H. Food Bank Dinner: First Lutheran will take a turn cooking and serving the evening meal at our FISH Food Bank on Sat, April 12th. We start setting up and cooking at 3 pm and serve the dinner at 5 pm. Clean up usually takes about an hour. Come for all or part of it as your schedule allows.

“Messiah” performance Sunday, April 27th at 4p.m. at CWU Concert Hall featuring CWU Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Choir.

Please join with the 2014 Haiti ChildHope Orphanage Team for a time of sharing and ice cream sundaes. We will meet on Sunday, April 6th at Ellensburg Presbyterian Church (1307 E. 3rd) at 6 p.m. to share photos and stories about our trip. For more information contact Marla Firman, 509.899.4287.

Methodist Women are hosting their Annual White Breakfast on Thursday, April 17th at 9:30a.m. Music by Laurae Lygre and a message from Janine Yoder, Hospice Chaplain.

Singing Hills Barbershop Chorus will be in concert on Friday, April 11th at Liberty Theatre, 5th and Pine at 7:00p.m. Tickets are available at Super 1: $5, Senior/student $3, Family $10. For more information please, contact Pastor Wayne at 933-7800.
