Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, Grace Episcopal Church ~ 1201 N. B St. Sunday, Dec 18th at 3pm. This wonderful ecumenical worship service has been happening in Ellensburg since 1988. This service was first presented at King’s College, Cambridge in 1918. The congregation joins in singing many Christmas carols. Choirs from a number of churches, including First Lutheran, sing separately and then as a combined choir. Pastors from different churches read the scripture lessons and a whole host of scrumptious cookies await you at the fellowship time afterwards. Come early to find parking and seating, as it is usually a full house.

Christmas Eve and Day Worship Services Since Christmas Day is a Sunday this year, we will have just one Christmas Eve Service at 7p.m. This will be a carols and candlelight service with holy communion. On Sunday, December 25th, we will have worship at the regular Sunday time of 10a.m. This will also be a holy communion service and our friends from First Methodist will be joining us. “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:5

If anyone is interested in helping at the Cold Weather Shelter, you can signup online, at, you will need to set up an account or login using Facebook.

Please sign up to bring cookies or other refreshments for fellowship time after the service. There are lots of empty dates! The sign-up is on the kitchen door. Thank you!

Christmas Caroling to our homebound members Saturday, December 17th noon. This is for people of all ages, including youth of course who would like to go caroling. We’ll feed you a light lunch at the church at noon, then pile into cars and share a little Christmas joy with our homebound members as we sing Christmas Carols.

Nursery Help Needed: Please consider signing up to occasionally help out in our nursery during the service if and when we have children up to age 4 who do not remain in the service. If we can get enough people, each person’s turn would only be once every two months or so. See the sign up next to the youth bulletin board in the fellowship hall and choose a Sunday. Thank you to all who helped out the past several weeks!
