Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, Grace Episcopal Church ~ 1201 N. B St. Sunday, Dec 18th at 3pm. This wonderful ecumenical worship service has been happening in Ellensburg since 1988. This service was first presented at King’s College, Cambridge in 1918. The congregation joins in singing many Christmas carols. Choirs from a number of churches, including First Lutheran, sing separately and then as a combined choir. Pastors from different churches read the scripture lessons and a whole host of scrumptious cookies await you at the fellowship time afterwards. Come early to find parking and seating, as it is usually a full house.

Christmas Eve and Day Worship Services Since Christmas Day is a Sunday this year, we will have just one Christmas Eve Service at 7p.m. This will be a carols and candlelight service with holy communion. On Sunday, December 25th, we will have worship at the regular Sunday time of 10a.m. This will also be a holy communion service and our friends from First Methodist will be joining us. “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:5

If anyone is interested in helping at the Cold Weather Shelter, you can signup online at, you will need to set up an account or login using Facebook.

Please sign up to bring cookies or other refreshments for fellowship time after the service. There are lots of empty dates! The sign-up is on the kitchen door. Thank you!

Nursery Help Needed: Please consider signing up to occasionally help out in our nursery during the service if and when we have children up to age 4 who do not remain in the service. If we can get enough people, each person’s turn would only be once every two months or so. See the sign up next to the youth bulletin board in the fellowship hall and choose a Sunday. Thank you to all who helped out the past several weeks!

FLC will take a turn cooking and serving the FISH Food Bank Dinner on Saturday, December 31st. We start cooking and prepping at 3p, serve at 5p and are usually all cleaned up by 6:20. Please, let Fred & Jean Cutlip, 925-3739 know if you can help.

Missing an ornament? I've got it. I just have a few left who are lonely for their owners. Come see me after church to pick up your beautiful creation!

Next weekend: Have a very blessed Christmas!

A couple more weeks are left to dress up the tree! I still see some green, so bring in a donation of gloves, mittens, scarves, and hats!
