The Scandinavian Potluck is Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. There are only few free tickets left until we are at capacity. If we run out of tickets today please add your name to the wait list. And please, everyone remember:
* If you have taken tickets and are unable to attend, please call the church office at
925-2844 so we can give your spot to someone on the wait list.
* If there are more than 4 people in your party, please bring extra food (at least two
dishes) so the last tables called will have enough to eat!
* The sign-up board for food is in the sanctuary, if you have tickets please sign up to
bring food (and no, it doesn’t have to be Scandinavian!).
* We will begin right at 5:30 p.m.
* All are invited to attend our Advent Service after the dinner at 7:00 p.m. in the
sanctuary. The service is about 30 minutes.
* Thank you and enjoy the evening!

Financial Commitment Sunday was November 17th. But it’s not too late to turn in your pledge of financial giving for 2014. (Hopefully everyone got one in the mail. If you want one and we accidentally skipped you, please let the office know.) Simply place it in the offering plate or in the basket in the office with your name on the outside of the envelope. Your pledge will be returned, unopened, to you in November 2014. Thanks for your good stewardship!
Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, Grace Episcopal Church 1201 N. B St. Sunday, Dec 15th at 3pm. This wonderful ecumenical worship service has been happening in Ellensburg since 1988. This service was first presented at King’s College, Cambridge in 1918. The congregation joins in singing many Christmas carols. Choirs from a number of churches, including First Lutheran, sing separately and then as a combined choir. Pastors from different churches read the scripture lessons and a whole host of scrumptious cookies await you at the fellowship time afterwards. Come early to find parking and seating, as it is usually a full house.
Wednesday Advent Worship Services Dec 11 & 18 at 7:00 pm. During the hectic month of December, we invite you to pause and pray. Come as you are to these half hour worship services of song, prayer and scripture readings. We will be using the Holden Evening Prayer Service.
Caroling to our home-bound members. On Sunday Dec 22nd after worship we will have a light lunch and then pile into cars to sing Christmas carols to our home-bound members. All ages, including youth, are cordially invited to join in and share a little Christmas cheer with our brothers and sisters in Christ who can’t get out much anymore. We’ll visit several of the care facilities in town as well as some private homes.
Thanks to everyone who helped cook, serve, and clean up the F.I.S.H. Food Bank dinner, yesterday.
Thank you to all who donated to the Women’s Thankoffering, they raised $740 and will be matched with $500 from Thrivent for a total of $1240 going to Lutheran Disaster Response for Typhoon Haiyan.
