The Wednesday Soup and Bread Supper will be hosted this week by members of the Stewardship and Property Management ministries. Please join us at 6:00 p.m. for a delicious meal followed by a study session and the Holden Evening Prayer Service.
We recently received a $10,800 check from our friends at Grace Lutheran in Mattawa! This pays off our loan to them from years ago. Dale Larson is the pastor there now and Grace is beginning a building expansion project. God’s blessings upon them!

First Communion Classes For Fourth Graders Sundays, Feb. 24 & March 3rd 11:30a.m. In the Chapel. I am inviting all fourth graders (and older) in our church to join me for the first communion classes. You have been coming to the altar to receive a blessing during the Lord’s Supper, but now you are old enough to begin receiving the bread and wine, the body and blood of Jesus Christ. All fourth graders (and older students who have not yet received communion instruction) are invited to attend 2 short classes with me on Sunday February 24th and March 3rd after worship. Parent(s) are encouraged to attend with their son or daughter and the classes will last about an hour. Please plan on attending both Sundays. We’ll taste the bread and wine and we’ll read Dan Erlander’s great little book, “A Place For You: My Holy Communion Book.” There will be a craft project to do and the kids will receive their first communion during worship on Sunday, March 10th, or at any time after that. Please let Pastor Dennis know if you will be attending, Church 925-2844 or home 933-2605.
Lenten Prayer for Hungry People Second Week in Lent February 24—March 2
Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18 Psalm 27 Philippians 3:17– 4:1 Luke 13:31-35 or Luke 9:28-43
[Jesus said,] “Listen, I am casting out demons and performing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish my work. Yet today, tomorrow, and the next day I must be on my way, because it is impossible for a prophet to be killed outside of Jerusalem.” Luke 13:33
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me! Psalm 27:7
Prayer: O Christ, you willingly set your course to Jerusalem and faced death on the cross so that we might live. Grant us faith to use this gift of new life to do your work of healing the sick and feeding the hungry. Amen.
