At 6:50p we will move into the sanctuary for Holden Evening Prayer, scripture and a brief message, and a little review of Luther’s small catechism we’ll wrap it up by 7:30p. Come as you are to these fun and informal evenings of good food, fellowship, scripture and worship. The following ministries are hosting soup suppers:
Worship & Music– March 7
Education and Youth—March 14
Property Management and Stewardship—March 21
I would like to thank all of you at First Lutheran for praying for Blair Scheib. He returned from Afghanistan from his third deployment. He is stationed in San Diego now. There were several times that he felt our prayers. Thank you for your continued caring for those in this community.
Thank you to the Boss Family for hauling food to FISH Food Bank for the Friday weigh-ins. And thank you to all of you for your generous contributions to “Munch Madness.”
First Communion Classes Sundays Feb 25 & March 4 after worship I am inviting all young people in about 3rd grade or older to two classes on the Lord’s Supper. I will leave it up to parents as to when you think your child is ready to receive holy communion. The book we use, “A Place for You” by Pastor Dan Erlander is written at about a 3rd grade reading level. We will also look up some Bible passages and each student is asked to create a first communion project out of paper/clay/fabric/wood/legos/paint or just about anything. We will meet in the chapel. If there are students older than 3rd grade, who are not yet receiving the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper, but would like to, you are certainly welcome to join in. The plan would be for students to receive their first communion on March 12th, or any time after that. If kids have not been baptized yet, we will need to talk about that. Please let Pastor Dennis know if you are coming 925-2844 or email@example.com
