Operating the shelter does cost the church money of course, heat, lights, hot water for showers and laundry. Would you like to sponsor a shelter night for about $30? If so just make checks out to “First Lutheran” and write “Cold Weather Shelter” in the memo line. Thank you!!

Annual Reports are due by Sunday, January 17th.

Annual Meeting of First Lutheran Church: Sunday, Jan 31st The annual meeting of our congregation will be Sun. Jan 31st after the 10 AM worship service. You won’t go hungry, because the youth will be serving their famous baked-potato bar with all the toppings. We need all voting members of FLC at this meeting to elect new church council members and pass a budget.

Flower Chart: We have a new flower chart up in the Fellowship Hall. If you are celebrating a special day and you would like to bring flowers for the altar, please sign up.

Confirmation Classes There will be no class on Jan 13th, but please come to the youth fun night that day. Classes continue on Jan 20 and 27 and our winter retreat at Lazy F is Fri Jan 15 through Sat Jan 16. It looks like we will probably have some snow fun this year!

Winter Youth Retreat: During MLK Weekend, FLC Youth will travel to Lazy-F Ranch for a couple days away in the snow. It will be a time for play and learning, including running in the woods, tubing, skating, and avoiding snowballs. Middle and High School Students are welcome! Bring your Bibles and plenty of warm clothes, sleeping bag, towel and toiletries

There will be a $30/per person cost, due Sunday, January 10th. Begins 4:00 Friday, January 15th. We’ll return to the church after supper Saturday night. (Scholarships available if the cost is a hardship; see Pastor Dennis.)

FLC will take a turn cooking and serving the FISH Food Bank Dinner here Saturday, January 23rd. We start cooking and prepping at 3p, serve at 5p and are usually all cleaned up by 6:20. Let Pastor Dennis know if you can help.

Youth Activities


Family Fun Night this Wednesday! We have some brilliantly colored activities planned as we learn about Joseph's coat and how it impacted his life. Did you know that the tomb of Joseph's mother, Rachel, can still be seen today on a road leading into Bethlehem? Pretty cool stuff!

Kids up to 5th grade: 4:30 to 5:30

Family sing along: 5:30

Dinner 5:45 to 6:30

6th grade and up: 6:30 to 7:30
