Vacation Bible School starts TONIGHT, Sunday, June 23 to Thursday, June 27th 6:00 - 8:15p.m. We hope to see you there!
Potluck Supper in the Park: All are invited to attend the potluck the last night of Vacation Bible School on Thursday, June 27th at the West Ellensburg Park covered area. You don’t have to be involved with VBS, just join us! The dinner is at 6:00. Plates, napkins, utensils, cups, and serving spoons will be provided. Please bring a dish to share and your own beverage. Come and enjoy good food and fellowship.
Food Donations for FISH in July: We're doing this differently in July! Everyone - bring CARROTS. (If you forget, don't worry.) Thanks!
Can you help us mow the lawn? A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall (next to the flower chart) to mow the church lawn. The church has all the equipment needed. The grass clippings can go in the dumpster. There are lots of open weeks between now and September (only 3 people have signed up so far). Can you take 1 week or more? See Mike Luvera or James Stolte to find out how to get into the shed and dumpster key or if you would like more information.
Summer Youth Program: The Youth Summer Schedule is available at FLC's web site (www.flc-eburg.org/ministry/youth-summer). Here's a partial list of what you'll find: Boulder Cave Hike, Mariner's game, FISH Summer Lunch Program, Winegar's Wednesdays, and Moses Lake Waterpark trip. For more information, please contact Joe Johnson firstname.lastname@example.org.
Youth-Parent Book Group: 6/30 6:30–8:00 Here's a great opportunity to get Youth in FLC homes—and read great Christian books. We'll select three books for the summer and spend 90 minutes talking about them. All Youth and parents are welcome to participate (and if you're neither Youth nor parent, we won't kick you out). If you can host, we need homes: Sunday evenings, 6:30–8:00, June 30, July 28, and August 25). Our first book is the short, entertaining, and thought-provoking C.S. Lewis classic, The Great Divorce (a very interesting look at Heaven and Hell). Group members will nominate and select the two other summer books during our June 30 meeting.
Email Updates: Would you like to receive FLC news, Youth updates, Prayer Requests, and/or Sunday School info through email? If so, then be sure to signup on the FLC Email Notification list. You can find a quick form on the FLC web site. Please signup now, and keep connected.
High School Home Study: 7/7 7:00–8:00 We've already had two fantastic studies in Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. We'll have our next study on Sunday, July 7 at 7:00–8:00 p.m. at Jim and Sue Ayers' house (101 E 9th Ave) All upcoming, current, and recently graduated high school students are invited to an hour in Bible study. If you're a HS Youth, bring your Bible and join us. Upcoming HSHS meetings: 7:00–8:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings, July 7, 21, August 11, and 18. You can also signup to host or let Joe you'll be coming via email or on the FLC web site: email@example.com
Mariners Trip: 7/24 9:00–7:00. Seattle. We have purchased 18 tickets for this trip. We have two drivers and need one more. In addition, we could use another adult chaperone, leaving us with 14 spots for Youth. As of this week, we've had three Youth sign up, meaning we only have 11 tickets left. $15 contribution per ticket (except drivers and chaperones). Row 182 (Bleachers) Row 1, Seats 1–18. Sign up is on a first-come-first-served basis on the gym door or the FLC web site.
Boulder Cave Hike:7/9 9:30–4:00. Past Naches. If you've never spent a hot July day keeping cool in a giant bat cave, you must take this trip. Boulder Cave is a great hike and picnic spot just past Naches. We'll need a few drivers and plenty of Youth. It's a short 1 mile hike to the cave. Bring lunch, water, and flashlights.
Summer Lunch Program: 11:00–1:00 Kiwanis/Mt. View Park Once again, FLC will join forces with FISH and Chestnut Street Baptist to serve community children. The Summer Lunch Program offers nutritious and tasty meals to local residents in the city parks. We need people to help distribute food and lead games. Please consider being a part of this amazing ministry. Even if you can't help all week, come for a day.
