Happy Mother’s Day!

Flowers for today are provided by Glen & Karen McLean in honor of their anniversary and Mother’s Day.

Fellowship Time after the service: To avoid congestion at the kitchen window, please look for coffee and tea on the long counter by the east windows. We’re hoping for a shorter line and wait time if you just want to grab a cup of coffee! Food items will continue to be at the kitchen window. Also, there are lots of open Sundays for volunteers to bring goodies to share each Sunday. See the sign-up on the kitchen door. Thank you!

Bake Sale to benefit Bread for the World - May 18. Plan to” fork out the dough” next Sunday! Bakers, bring your baked goods to the church before worship, packaged and ready to go! Donations received will be matched by Thrivent Financial up to $300.00. Plan on giving your support to help make Bread for the World a voice that can be heard in Washington. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

SUNDAY'S May 11, 18, 25, after worship. What does it mean to be a Lutheran Christian? Sunday's during May Pastor Ginny Krekling will lead discussions on key beliefs of the Lutheran Church as well as some insights into several other Faith denominations. We'll talk about the ELCA, our national church body, and how our understandings are similar and different from other Lutheran bodies. If you haven't looked at these issues since you were confirmed or if like many you have never had a chance to discuss your faith in a safe setting these classes are for you.

Youth Fun Nights: Games, songs, Bible stories, prayers and dinner. This event will be Tuesday, May 13th. Last one until Fall.

The schedule will be:

4:30-5:30 ~ Elementary kids

5:30-5:45 ~ Music for all ages

5:45-6:15 ~ Dinner (for all—parents, too)

6:15-7:30 ~ Middle/high school youth

First Lutheran needs a representative on the F.I.S.H. Food Bank board. Jean Cutlip is stepping down after more than 12 years of service. (Thank you, Jean!) The board meets the 2nd Monday of the month, 6:30p at the Food Bank. Please prayerfully consider if you would like to serve in this capacity and let Pastor Dennis know.

Ushers are still needed for May and June. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board near the kitchen. If you’re available to help, please sign up with your name and phone number. Ushers distribute programs as people enter the sanctuary, help collect the offering, and count the number of people attending. It’s a great way to say hello to old friends and maybe meet some new ones.
