Bake Sale to benefit Bread for the World – Today! Don’t leave “half baked”! Stay and check out the table of breads, cookies, rolls and more! Something there has your name on it. Enjoy it with coffee after worship, or select something to take home for later. Donations received will be matched by Thrivent Financial up to $300.00. Plan on giving your support to help make Bread for the World a voice that can be heard in Washington. Donations will be gratefully accepted.
Stewardship Stu here with a question. What to you picture for yourself when you think about stewardship? I was recently reminded of Mahatma Gandhi's words..."Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny." Jesus encourages us believers to think about our blessings, to grow them, and to make a habit of sharing them because they are gifts. We shape our destiny with every decision we make. What do you believe? See you in Church. Stu
All Thrivent members are invited to a free dinner on Thursday, June 5 at 6:00 p.m. The location is still being finalized. If you think you might attend let Don Morris or James Stolte know so we have an estimate of how many people may be coming.
Fellowship Time after the service: To avoid congestion at the kitchen window, please look for coffee and tea on the long counter by the east windows. We’re hoping for a shorter line and wait time if you just want to grab a cup of coffee! Food items will continue to be at the kitchen window. Also, there are lots of open Sundays for volunteers to bring goodies to share each Sunday. See the sign-up on the kitchen door. Thank you!

SUNDAY'S May 18 and 25, after worship. What does it mean to be a Lutheran Christian? Sunday's during May Pastor Ginny Krekling will lead discussions on key beliefs of the Lutheran Church as well as some insights into several other Faith denominations. We'll talk about the ELCA, our national church body, and how our understandings are similar and different from other Lutheran bodies. If you haven't looked at these issues since you were confirmed or if like many you have never had a chance to discuss your faith in a safe setting these classes are for you.
Oso, WA - Mudslide Relief (UPDATE) To date we have received $295 from the contributions from First Lutheran Church. We will be collecting additional funds through the month of May and Thrivent Financial will be matching that amount up to $500 and will be sending the money in the beginning of June. You still have until May 31st to get your contributions in to the church. Help make a difference in the lives of those who are trying to rebuild their lives after this natural disaster. Lutherans have a reputation for being there for the "long haul" when disasters occur. Donations received will be used to address both immediate and long-term needs. If you would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to First Lutheran Church and note “Oso Mudslide Fund” on the memo line. Thank you for your continuing thoughts and prayers, and for your financial support.
Thank you for your recent gift of $1,312.05 to Pacific Typhoon Response. As Lutheran Disaster Response, a ministry of ELCA, we do more together than we could ever do alone. We are a church that believes God is calling us into the world together. Thank you for your support.
