Bread for the World Bake Sale today after worship. It’s time for our annual bread (etc!) sale to raise money for Bread for the World! By uniting behind BFTW, we support a strong voice in Washington on behalf of our nation’s and our world’s hungry people. We help to lift our brothers and sisters out of poverty and despair. We do God’s work. You might be able to pick up something for your Thanksgiving meal at the sale. Outreach ministry thanks you from the bottom of our mixing bowls for your continued and generous support. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will again match the money we raise, doubling our effect. Thank you for your participation!

Community Thanksgiving Worship Service at FLC Tues. Nov 26 at 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to an informal community wide Thanksgiving Worship Service here at First Lutheran on the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving Day. There will be songs and prayers and scripture readings and brief sermonettes. A number of pastors from various churches in town, including FLC, will be taking part. The offerings of money or packaged foods will be given to our FISH Food Bank. Coffee and cookies afterwards, of course. Let’s come together and give thanks to our wonderful God!

FREE tickets for the Scandinavian Potluck Dinner will be available in the fellowship hall 3 Sundays only: TODAY, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 after the worship service. The ticket count helps us to have an accurate number for set up. When you receive your tickets, please sign up on the board indicating what type of food item(s) you will be bringing. If you sign up for food, please remember to get tickets so we know you are coming. The dinner is planned for Wednesday, December 11th at 5:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Did you know? “Connections” is a musical team that leads worship services at Royal Vista and Hearthstone care centers on Tuesdays. FLC members include Jim Stolte, Marla Firman, David & Laurae Lygre and Maureen Roth. They are joined by other Christian servants. Blessings on your ministry!

Choir: There will be no choir rehearsal on Thanksgiving and we won’t sing on Sunday, December 1st, our next rehearsal is on December 5th at 7:00p.m.

Financial Commitment Sunday was November 17th. But it’s not too late to turn in your pledge of financial giving for 2014. (Hopefully everyone got one in the mail. If you want one and we accidentally skipped you, please let the office know.) Simply place it in the offering plate or in the basket with your name on the outside of the envelope. Your pledge will be returned, unopened, to you in November 2014. Thanks for your good stewardship!

Begin your Advent season with a community Prayer Around The Cross. Advent service sponsored by the Campus Ministry Team Sunday, December 1 @ 6:30 pm. The congregation and the Community are invited to this inspirational prayer and meditation. Help us introduce Advent to those who have not experienced the peace and joy that this season can offer and support our students and faculty as they begin the rigors of Finals. Come quietly into the dimly lighted fellowship hall and feel the transformation of God's love.
