QUILT SALE: The proceeds from this sale will go back to the church’s general fund; for music & worship, VBS, or where ever funds are needed. A handful of quilters have worked all summer on quilts for this sale. Please purchase one of these beautiful quilts made with lots of love!
Next Sunday Nov 12th is Consecration Sunday and the Celebration Luncheon Hopefully all of you had received the letter from our Council President Michael Greoger announcing this years’ Consecration Sunday and our Celebration Luncheon next Sunday Nov 12th. If you have not yet completed your reservation card for the Celebration Luncheon please do so today. You may get a reservation card from the ushers following service. This luncheon will immediately follow our Consecration Worship Service and our guest preacher this year is Pastor David Kappus, pastor at Central Lutheran in Spokane, one of our synods “Networkers”, a certified stewardship coach, and Ventures Leader in our synod. Next Sunday we will complete our Time and Talent sheets and our Estimate of Giving for our 2018 ministry year.
Please take a moment today after service to thank our three members of council, Dave Burfeind, Sheila Johnson and Julie Anna Boss for sharing their faith and presenting our temple talks for this years “Stewards of God’s Love” Consecration Sunday emphasis.

New Members Class Nov. 5, 19 Dec. 3, 10 Sundays after worship Anyone who is interested in joining First Lutheran Church, or simply wants a refresher on what Lutherans believe and do is invited to attend these four classes after Sunday worship services. We’ll meet for an hour or less with Pastor Dennis and read together Dan Erlander’s book, “Baptized We Live.” Please plan on attending all four classes if you can. It’s a great time to ask questions and get to know some of your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Operating the shelter does cost the church money of course, heat, lights, hot water for showers and laundry. Would you like to sponsor a shelter night for about $30? If so just make checks out to “First Lutheran” and write “Cold Weather Shelter” on the memo line. Thank you!!
Women’s Bible Study has been changed from Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. to Tuesdays at noon. We meet in the quilting room and all are invited to attend.
Next Spring’s EWAID Synod Assembly is April 27-29 in Yakima! MANY volunteers are needed! A second planning meeting will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 5606 W. Lincoln Ave, Yakima, WA on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 6:30 pm. We need people to help plan worship, make arrangements, and organize the program for the assembly. You can be involved as much, or as little, as you want. There's something for everyone! Bishop Kristen Kuempel plans to attend this meeting and share her vision for the assembly! You proved to me that you are our Friends and partners from the bottom of your hearts. Wednesday: Family Fun Night! This will be all about having fun with pie and bubble ball! I will need volunteers to man the kitchen (dinner will be there) for baking and serving, referees, and pie coaches! Fun starts at 5:30 p.m. for all ages - including adults!
Next Sunday: Operation Christmas Child packing party! Lunch is provided! Meet in the kitchen after church where we will serve the congregation tacos (and have a few ourselves), then head to the gym to pack the boxes!
Sign up to bring something for our 12th man tailgating fundraiser!! The fundraiser will be on Sunday, November 19. We need chili and some fun "game day" finger foods! Yum! All proceeds for our fundraiser goes towards our broadcasting time Sunday mornings!
