Flowers for today are provided by Al & Estelle Johnson in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Today is Consecration Sunday November 6t Stewardship specialist Marcus Rieke is our guest speaker. Today we will be completing our time and talent sheets, as well as our estimates of financial giving for 2017. We will offer them to God during worship and enjoy lunch together after worship. Marcus Rieke is a trusted stewardship leader in the Northwest and is also leading stewardship workshops in our E.WA-ID Synod of the ELCA during October and November. The estimates of giving will be opened and seen only by our financial secretary Jim Stolte. (Jim, and only Jim, already knows what people give to FLC for your charitable giving tax info.) By the end of lunch we hope to have a congregational estimate of giving for 2017. Whether you are able to pledge a lot, a little, or somewhere in-between, every financial pledge counts for keeping the ministry of your church going. Remember that God loves a cheerful giver and we do grow in faith and love as we give first to God in our lives. And whether you pledge or not, everyone is invited for lunch.

New Members Class Nov. 13, 20 Dec. 4, 11 Sundays after worship. Anyone who is interested in joining First Lutheran Church, or simply wants a little refresher on what Lutherans believe and do is invited to attend these four classes after Sunday worship services. We’ll meet for an hour or less with Pastor Dennis and read together Dan Erlander’s book, “Baptized We Live.” Please plan on attending all four classes if you can. It’s a great time to ask questions and get to know some of your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Food Bank News: Did you know our FISH Food Bank provides backpacks of weekend food for 108 students from the elementary schools and middle school. Awesome! Volunteers are desperately needed at the Food Bank to sort food and help clients. Do you have a few hours during the week or Saturdays 10:30-1p?

Huge thanks to Art & Joan Neslund and all who help me with the cold weather shelter for the homeless here at FLC on Thursday nights. Let me (Pastor Dennis) know if you can help with a shift 7-10p, 10p-6a or 6-7a.

A Community Thanksgiving Service will be here at FLC on Sunday, November 20th at 7:00p.m. Pastors from other churches will read scripture, offer brief mediations or prayers and the offering will (probably) go to FISH Food Bank. Folks from all churches are welcome, so invite your friends. We could use some coffee and cookie hosts for the fellowship time after the service. Sponsored by Kittitas Valley Ministerial Association.

Thank you for the clothes and donations for the hurricane victims. We sent 12 big boxes and over a $1,000.00. Don & Donna Morris

CALLING FOR BREAD: "Bread" is a universal, powerful symbol of God's sustaining love for us and of our daily need for basic nourishment. Yet throughout the earth - even in the United States - hungry people suffer and perish. Bread for the World is a nationwide Christian citizens' movement seeking justice for the world's hungry people by lobbying our nation's decision makers. BFW Institute seeks justice for hungry people by engaging in research and education on policies related to hunger and development. On Sunday, November 20 we of FLC will again roll up our flour-dusted sleeves to raise funds for BFTW. You are invited to supply your most tempting, well-wrapped loaves, pies, rolls and sweets to be sold during fellowship hour. Please plan to drop things off in the fellowship area just before worship. The World thanks you!
