Sunday, September 8th: Baptism of Clara Nielson, daughter of Tyrel & Nathasha Nielson.
Attention all bakers and walkers! “Paint the ‘Burg Purple”! Pacifica Senior Living in Ellensburg is sponsoring a bake sale “Treats to End Alzheimer’s” and a “Walk to End Alzheimer’s.” Both events are planned for Friday, Sept. 6. All are welcome to donate cash or baked goods and to participate in the walk, if possible. Baked goods can be dropped off Sept. 4-6 between 7:00-11am at Pacifica, 818 E. Mt. View Ave. The bake sale is from 1:00-4:00pm. Donations of treats and buyers of the same are most appreciated, so please stop by! For more information about the bake sale and/or the walk contact Ahna Soli at 509.492.2823 and see the posters on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall. All proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
If you are interested in performing special music for a worship service in September, please contact the church office or Betty Kramlich. If you would like Betty to accompany you please contact her.
You can now give a financial contribution by using the Vanco Give Plus app on your phone using your credit/debit card or savings/checking account. Like any credit card use, there is a processing fee charged to the merchant/church. There is an option you can check to pay a percentage to help cover that cost if you desire. You will be given credit for the full amount you give. You also have the option to select different funds to contribute to. If a fund you want to contribute to is not listed, let the church office or James Stolte know and it can be added. If you would like more information see James Stolte.
Confirmation Pizza Feed for students and families on Wed. Sept. 11th at 6:30 p.m. for about an hour. Please let Pastor Dennis know how many in your family are coming so he orders enough pizza...send an email: email@example.com, or call: 925-2844 (church office) or 929-2926 (cell number). Eat pizza, see an overview of the year, welcome new students, acolyte training (bring your calendars)!

Weekend Nutrition for Hungry Kids
First Lutheran will once again be participating in providing weekend nutrition for kids at Lincoln Elementary, Dammon and Thorp Schools. Our Food Bank contact person, Judy Ragland has placed a box under the coat rack with a suggested list of non-perishable and easy to prepare food items. FLC will also order some foods through the Food Bank since FISH can get them at a greatly reduced price. We will pack bags of food on Thursday and deliver them. Your donations are greatly appreciated. If you prefer to give a check, please make it out to First Lutheran Church and mark “Weekend Nutrition Program” in the memo line. Thank you for helping to alleviate hunger in our community!
Paddle Pilgrim: “Kayaking the Fjords of Norway” Dave Ellingson, former First Lutheran Church campus minister will be in Ellensburg on September 8th. He will share his recent experiences kayaking in Norway at the Hal Holmes Center 1:30—3p.m. Dave Ellingson, whose Mississippi River, Erie Canal and Hudson River expeditions are chronicled in his popular Paddle Pilgrim books, enjoyed a spectacular month paddling last summer on his ancestral Sogne and Hardanger Fjords. Dave will share spell-binding stories and award-winning photographs from his recent adventure in Norway. His latest Paddle Pilgrim: “Kayaking the Fjords of Norway” book, hot off the press, will be available for purchase and signed by the author!
Youth Group (grades 6 - 12)
Today after church - brief brainstorming for Youth Parents and Youth alike about the 2021 gathering, high school youth meet at the brown oval table to finalize Haunted Maze details!
Next Sunday: Trip to Leavenworth for mini-golf and team building . Details on the board, sign ups required!
