Constitution & By Laws Discussion Today Sunday, September 25 after Worship in the Chapel. We are in the process of updating our constitution to bring it in line with the ELCA model constitution. Neal Caulkins will be on hand to field questions and concerns. The plan then is to vote on the new constitution on Sunday, October 9th. Please join us for a short meeting Sunday, September 25th after worship.
Choir rehearsals begin Thursday, September 29th 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Do you enjoy singing? Then Come!
Just for fun in the garden: If you look just outside Pastor’s window, you will see a type of plant that may have given shade to Jonah. Jonah 6 says “The Lord God appointed a bush and made it come up over Jonah, to give shade over his head, to save him from his discomfort.” The Hebrew word translated as bush is Qiqayon—possibly the castor bean plant. Look for the big furry red blossoms and broad leaves. Our castor bean, planted by Ida Malde, really grew fast in the summer sun.
Do you have an old ladder looking for a home? If you are downsizing or cleaning up around home, you might be getting rid of items. If one of those items is a ladder contact James Stolte. The church could use an 8-12 foot ladder to keep on the roof to get to the roof portion above the gym. This will be useful when we clean the roof tops and will also benefit the fire department for a quicker response if they ever need to get up there.
