Thank you to those that helped with the F.I.S.H. Food Bank dinner yesterday.

Sunday School and Adult Ed. will begin Sunday, September 21st. at 8:45a.m.

Please check out the great plaster repair job that Felix plastering did on the outside of our gym/education building on August 25-26! They work fast and do good work!

Confirmation Pizza Feed, Wednesday, September 10th at 6:30 pm. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their parents who are interested in our Confirmation ministry are invited to a pizza feed and information time from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. This will be a good time to ask questions, get an overview of the year and sign up to be acolytes. This year we will be doing Youth Fun Nights on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. On Sept 10th we will also walk through what you do as an acolyte on Sundays. Actual confirmation classes will start on Wed., Sept. 17th at 6:30 pm. This year we will be studying the New Testament and The Lord’s Prayer.Please let pastor Dennis know how many from your family are coming to the Pizza Feed on Wed., Sept 10th so he orders enough food. 925-2844 church, 933-2605 home. High Schoolers are welcome to come and have pizza with us, too.

A generous anonymous donor will match up to $500 of your donations to our radio fund; please give your gift by October 31st.

Sound – Would you like to help people hear the church service? Do you like to push buttons and move levers up and down? We are looking for people to operate the sound system. If you are interested or have questions see James Stolte or leave your name in the church office. Training will be provided. High school youth are encouraged to think about it.

F.I.S.H. giving news for July: 83 pounds of produce, 119 pounds of canned goods and $335.32 were given by FLC. Thank you!!!

Hospice Kits

First Lutheran will also participate in a service project for Global Health Ministries, assembling Hospice Kits. These are distributed through Lutheran hospice programs to those suffering from HIV/Aids, cancer and other terminal diseases, reaching into remote villages in Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Kenya. Thrivent Financial has agreed to help with funding for these kits. A collection table for donations will be set up in the Fellowship Hall. The kits will be assembled by the Sunday schoolchildren. Needed for the kits are:

New or gently used:

Regular size bath towels and wash cloths


Bath size bars of soap, wrapped Toothbrush in original pkg.

Toothpaste, medium or large “Pick” style combs

Band-Aids, 6/rubber banded Nail Clippers

Petroleum Jelly, jars or tubes, 4 oz. or larger, lids taped

Small devotional books

Heavy duty household gloves, kitchen type, size medium

Wed - September 10: This week is a big week for the Confirmation Youth Group members. We are having a pizza feed.
